Rooms & equipment

Where is recording automatic?

The largest and most important lecture halls at KIT are equipped with technology that records picture and sound, processes them and makes them available to other systems such as ILIAS. Automated recording is only possible in these selected rooms. After signing in to the portal you can see the current list under Administration → Rooms.

And in all other rooms?

Any other recording is generally possible in any room if the necessary equipment is available or brought along. KIT offers this, specifically through the Media Centre.

Green screen instead of a lecture?

Then HDCP was probably active on the device you used. HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) prevents recording over digital video connections. In some lecture halls HDCP is switched off automatically, in others it is not. Therefore check in advance whether recording works with your laptop. Whether HDCP is switched off automatically in a room is shown in the room list in the portal.
